The Calcutta High Court granted bail to nine youths who were detained and arrested for raising anti-establishment slogans and placards outside the Durga Puja pandal in Kolkata. The bail was in accordance with the same legal rule – Bail is the rule and arrest is the exception. The bail was granted by a single Judge Bench and the persons who were granted bail were directed by the Court to not cause disturbance or raise slogans within 200 metres area of the Pandal.
