The Bombay High Court recently granted Adani Electricity permission to cut 209 mangroves to install HVDC transmission line across key areas of Mumbai and its suburbs in the case of [Adani Electricity vs. Union Of India]
The bench including Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice Bharati Dangre passed this judgement.
They underlined the importance of the project. They argued that considering the importance of the project which will benefit the electricity consumers of Mumbai, it was deemed appropriate to to confer the desired permission as the project benefitted the public at large.
