Prisoners escape from Haridwar District jail

A murder convict along with a dreaded criminal escaped from the Haridwar District jail. Over the matter, 5 jail personnel and the jailer of the jail were suspended for their negligent behaviour on duty. A detailed inquiry has been ordered for the same. The incident happened when a “Ramleela” staged at the jail on the occasion of Dussehra. The escaped prisoners used a ladder brought for construction purposes to escape the jail premises.
