The accused Sanjoy Roy in the RG kar rape case is found guilty by the Court. He is charged of the offences- rape and murder under BNS. The Session court punished him with life imprisonment as it was held by the Court that the case didn’t fall under the category of “rarest and rare”. In response to the verdict, West Bengal Govt. moved to High Court seeking death penalty for the accused.
