Karnataka High Court recently quashed the case registered against the former Chief Minister and BJP leader B S Yediyurappa under the POCSO Act. At the same time, they found that the trial court’s order in taking a cognizance (judicial notice) is cryptic and hence liable to be expunged though the criminal case against him remains intact.
This judgment was delivered by the bench consisting of Justice M Nagaprasanna after hearing the petition filed by Yediyurappa to quash the case.
The court also granted an anticipatory bail in the same case.
