SC upheld the validity of UP Madrasa Education Board Act

The Allahabad HC had declared UP Madrasa Education Board Act,2004 as unconstitutional on the grounds of violation of the principles of secularism and hence had struck it down. However, The Apex Court has overruled this verdict by confirming the validity of the Act partially. It also confirmed that the state can regulate madrasa education to ensure standards of excellence.
