SC rules Aadhar not a valid paper to determine age

The Apex Court set aside an order of high court which had accepted Aadhar Card for determining the age of victim to grant compensation. The Bench noted that the Aadhar card can be used to establish identity but can not be used as a proof of date of birth. Therefore, the age of deceased had to be determined from date of birth mentioned in school leaving certificate under Section 94 of Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015.
