Hema Committee report, released on August 19, 2024, addresses the challenges faced by women in the Malayalam film industry. Commissioned to investigate systemic issues related to gender inequality, the report highlights various problems including pay disparities, lack of representation in key roles, and instances of harassment. It also provides recommendations for reforms aimed at improving workplace conditions, promoting fair opportunities.
