EC’s decision to increase the maximum no. of voters per polling booth challenged before SC

Election Commission’s decision to increase the maximum number of voters per polling booth in each constituency across India from 1,200 to 1,500 is challenged by Indu Prakash Singh who filed a PIL petition before the Supreme Court. A Bench headed by CJI Sanjiv Khanna will hear the case. Senior Advocate appearing for the petitioner had submitted that longer queues at the polling station and longer waiting periods dissuade voters from going to cast their votes.
