ANI’s plea against OpenAI

Asian News International (ANI) filed a suit against OpenAI which operates ChatGPT over the use of its news content “without any license or permission”, to provide service to its users.  It alleged that OpenAI illegally stores its content which is then used to train LLM (Large Learning Model). The results generated by LLM reproduce the exclusive content which involves extensive copying of ANI works without any authorization. This clearly amounts to a violation of copyright as alleged by ANI. In furtherance of the suit, the Delhi HC has issued summons to OpenAI.
